The North Shore medical community is mourning the unexpected passing of Dr. Dana D. Mann, a respected family physician, medical educator, and partner at MFM Health, formerly known as Middleton Family Medicine. Dr. Mann died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 46, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of compassionate care, dedication to medicine, and service to countless patients and families throughout Massachusetts.

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Mann devoted herself to caring for generations of patients across the North Shore. She was widely recognized for her patient-centered approach, her ability to listen with compassion, and her commitment to treating every individual with dignity and respect. Her passing has brought profound sadness to patients, colleagues, friends, and members of the medical community who admired her dedication and kindness.

Dr. Mann’s career was defined not only by her medical expertise but also by the relationships she built with those she served. Patients remembered her as a physician who took the time to understand their concerns and provide thoughtful, personalized care. A proud member of the Tufts University community, Dr. Mann was known as a “Triple Jumbo,” reflecting her deep connection to the institution where she completed her undergraduate education, medical degree, and residency training. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 2005 and completed her Family Medicine residency through the Tufts program in 2008.

During her medical training, Dr. Mann was recognized for both her clinical ability and her commitment to compassionate medicine. In 2005, she received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, honoring physicians who demonstrate outstanding dedication to patient care and human connection. In 2008, she received the Sidney Zeitler M.D. Memorial Award in recognition of her contributions to physician education and training.

In 2012, Dr. Mann joined Middleton Family Medicine, where she quickly became an essential part of the practice. As the organization expanded and became MFM Health, she continued playing a key leadership role. She later became a partner alongside Dr. Mark Allara, Dr. Meghan Tramontozzi, and Dr. Michael Yoon, helping shape the practice’s mission of providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to the community.

As a board-certified family physician through the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Mann brought extensive knowledge and experience to her work. Her areas of expertise included Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Dermatological procedures, Sports Medicine, and Palliative Care. Her broad medical background allowed her to support patients through many different health challenges and stages of life.

Dr. Mann also made important contributions beyond her clinical practice. Through her affiliation with Beverly Hospital, she participated in initiatives focused on improving healthcare quality and patient safety. She served on several committees, including the Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia Committee, Electronic Medical Record Committee and Task Force, Medical Advisory Panel, and the regional Diabetic Management Initiative.

Her commitment to education and improvement reflected her belief that medicine was not only about treating illness but also about continuously finding better ways to care for patients and communities. Colleagues described her as a physician who brought professionalism, knowledge, and compassion to every aspect of her work.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Mann was remembered most for the personal connection she created with her patients. MFM Health leaders described her as a foundational member of the practice whose values represented the organization’s mission of integrity, empathy, and dedication.
